Hyperloop. Future Technology of Cargo Transportation in Russia.
In December 2016, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation created a working group to develop the new Hyperloop technology within the Russian transport system.
The idea of high-speed technology of Hyperloop vacuum trains belongs to Elon Musk promising the highest speed ever developed overland.
The Hyperloop technology implies tubes (6.8 metres in diameter) filled with reduced pressure (air pressure 1/1000 of normal, the so-called forvacuum), in which pressurized capsules are moving at high speed in the low friction environment and driven by electric motor.
The capsule will be 21 meter long and will carry 2 TEUs. The loading and unloading of the capsule will take not more than 15 minutes. The total capacity of a loaded capsule is roughly 30 metric tons.
According to Bill Shor, the Managing Director of Caspian Venture Capital, total investments into the building of Hyperloop are estimated at $1.5 billion. Shor expects that it will take four years to launch the project.
The Hyperloop model project implies building a 65-kilometre line between Hunchun (China) and Zarubino (Russia)/
